BiographyCatherine Bell has a wonderful sexiness with a very natural and different look that isn't seen too often in Hollywood. She was born on 14 August 1968 in London, England. She was born to Peter, born in Britain who worked as an architect in London and her mother Mina, born in Iran, worked as a nurse. Her parents however divorced in Britain. After the divorce she and her mother migrated to United States when she was three years old. Catherine and her mother lived in Los Angeles, where they stayed, at first, with her mother's parents. During Catherine's early school years Catherine was a tall, skinny kid that got straight A's and wore glasses - in junior high she programmed a computer game. Being a tomboy and social outsider, she knew nothing of how to wear makeup or doing hair until a friend showed her these things in her junior year of high school.
Ms. Bell excelled in math and biology, which led to her plans to become a doctor or biomedical engineer. She attended the University of California at Los Angeles to become a biomedical engineer or a surgeon. But then she had a change of plans and began modeling part time while in college. She put her studies on hold when she headed to Japan to model for several months, and a different career path emerged.
She hired an acting coach to help her develop her skills. A few movies and TV shows later, Catherine auditioned (five times) for the lead female role of Marine Major Sarah "Mac" MacKenzie on the CBS TV action-drama series "JAG." Knowing the show's originator, Donald Bellisario, from having made a guest appearance in the first season "JAG" episode, "Skeleton Crew," Catherine wrote him a long letter about how she loved the "Mac" character and how she felt she was the best person for the part. She was cast in the role.
Catherine got her showbiz start in a commercial for American Express, but her big break came playing Isabella Rossellini's body double in "Death Becomes Her".
Catherine is currently married to Adam Beason, 29, and lives in Sherman Oaks, California. She has two Italian greyhound doggies, Zoe and Leo. She is fluent in the Persian language Farsi. She enjoys painting, kick boxing, sky diving, bungy jumping, dirt biking, mountain biking, skiing, and snowboarding. Her mother is her personal assistant.
What sets Catherine apart from other celebrities, is her kindness; she spends most of her free time helping charities, most notably the Children's Hospital in Los Angeles, and the Buoniconti Fund that is searching for a cure for paralysis.
